Looking for a funny read for the sand to end the summer? Here are two light and hilarious choices that will tickle your funny bone any time of year:

David Sedaris can't seem to miss the mark in any of his books and his most recent attempt, When You Are Engulfed in Flames, is no exception. A hilariously smart account of his real life with well-to-do boyfriend, Hugh, experiences with sister Amy Sedaris, and time spent living around the world will entertain any reader who appreciates sarcasm, biting wit, brutal honesty, and comic irony - it's so funny that most people can't even read the book without laughing out loud, and some even laugh so hard they are driven to tears ...but I won't mention any names.
This is probably the funniest book I have ever read - and that's saying something! If you've ever seen her show on the E! channel, then you know that Chelsea Handler is one hilarious lady who is definitely not afraid to tell it like it is, and have a harmless laugh at a friend's expense, as well as her own. The title of her second book alone will give you a little preview of her sense of humor: Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea is a hilarious account of Handler's life, from pretending to be a child star when she was in fourth grade, to getting into a "rumble" with some teenagers as an adult. Chelsea's stories literally had me laughing out loud from start to finish as I read the book in one day's time. Now, not only do I think Handler is so much more hilarious than her show gives her credit for, but I feel like I know her and am in on the jokes she makes about herself and her family as I tune in to Chelsea Lately - weeknights on E!
I must be off, back to hit the books once more!
Peace and love,
